今日もイエス様は子供を弟子たちにわかりやすいようにご自分のひざにかかえたまま（Objective lesson）、天で一番偉い者の話に続き、罪につまずかせる者の話をされました。
目の前には子供がいましたが、私たち信徒も含め、神の子供たちです。これらの兄弟姉妹たちを罪につまずかせるようなことをする事を、イエス様は本当に憎んでおられました。
そのような者は「その手、足、目を片方失うほうが、両手、両足、両目そろって深い海に沈められたり、永遠の火に投げ込まれたりするよりもましだ」とおっしゃるほどです。
それほどまでに罪は災いそのものです。私たちと神様との関係を引き離し、壊すものだからです。この罪の問題を解決するために、イエス様は自分の命を投げ出し、十字架にかかってくださったほどです。ですから、私たちは罪似ついて非常に敏感に、残酷に対処しなければなりません。少しの妥協も許すことはできません。私たちの判断はあてになりません。罪についてはすべて主が裁かれるのですから。私たちが罪を犯すとき、イエス様も同じく心が痛まれます。十字架の時に経験された同じ痛みなのだと思います。それは私たちがそれほどイエス様と一体であるという証拠でもあるのです。
サウロにイエス様が「どうしてわたしを迫害するのか」といったシーンが瞑想されます。サウロはイエス様の子供たちを迫害していましたが、それらと一体であるイエス様を迫害していたのです。
昨今、すこし見回すだけでもあふれるばかりの罪への誘惑にこの世は溢れています。あらゆる娯楽、思想、ソーシャルメディア、権威…。もちろん危ういものから離れることが一番ですがこの世にあって避けられないときは、このような強力な誘惑に打ち勝つ唯一の方法はイエス様の力に頼ることのみであると信じることにのみしかありません。このことを改めて今日コミットしたいと思います。
Today, Jesus continued his teaching about man or thing that makes them stumble in sin by holding the child in his arms, following the story of “who is the greatest in heaven”, which always leads us the upside-down concept in this world.
Though Jesus was holding the child, all of us who believe Jesus are his children including the disciples.
Jesus really hated the man or things which make his children stumble in sin. Jesus taught them that it is better for them to cut their hand, leg or to scratch his eye than being cast into deep in sea or everlasting fire having both hands legs, and eyes. So much so that sin is woe, disaster, Jesus said. Because sin pull away and breaks any relationship with God and us. To solve this sin problem, Jesus gave up his life and hung himself on the cross. Therefore, we must deal with our sin too carefully and too ruthlessly. Any compromise won’t be allowed. We cannot rely on our own judgment by ourselves regarding sin, all sin is judged by God. Whenever we commit our sin regardless of its volume and severity, Jesus hurts himself with the same pain and sorrow experienced on the cross.
This proves that Jesus and us are united and as a body. I remember Jesus said to Saul, “why you persecute me?” Saul mistreated Christians but at the same time he persecuted Jesus as one, same body.
In this world we are facing tremendous temptation to sin, entertainments, thoughts, social media, education, authorities…of course it is best to be away from any dangerous things, but when we face very difficult situation impossible to avoid them in this world, I want to have the commitment and faith to believe that we can overcome the temptation and sin by only power of Jesus remembering today's story.
